HARRISBURG – To educate senior citizens about a variety of financial topics along with programs and services for older Pennsylvanians, Rep. Tedd Nesbit (R-Mercer/Butler) is inviting senior citizens to attend one of two upcoming Senior Breakfasts.
Two breakfasts are scheduled on the following dates and locations:
• Friday, April 13, Unionville Fire Company, 102 Mahood Road, Butler. This seminar will feature information about a variety of senior-related programs and services, such as Property Tax/Rent Rebate, state Lottery-supported programs and more.
• Friday, April 20, Mercer County Career Center, 776 Greenville Road, Mercer. An official with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities will address the following topics with seniors: avoiding scams, identity theft, understanding reverse mortgages, banking basics and budgeting.
Both breakfasts will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last about 90 minutes.
“Both of these breakfasts are designed to educate seniors about issues important to them,” Nesbit said. “From learning more about state programs and services to helping them live a better quality of life, to having information about how to protect their finances, I encourage any senior citizen to attend.”
The breakfast is free to attend, but seniors must register by April 10 by calling Nesbit’s Grove City office at (724) 458-4911 or emailing his office at firstname.lastname@example.org
