– With Pennsylvania having the sixth-highest population of senior citizens in the nation, Rep. Tedd Nesbit (R-Mercer/Butler) is inviting senior citizens to a Senior Breakfast to learn more about programs and services available to this age group, along with updates on important legislation impacting them.
The breakfast will be held Friday, May 12, from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Mercer County Career Center, located at 766 Greenville Road, Mercer
. There is no charge to attend.
“I’ve held several breakfasts over the past two years, and they’ve been extremely popular,” Nesbit said. “Now more than ever, senior citizens are engaged in their communities and want to know what’s going on in the world around them. This breakfast will provide them with information to help them live a better quality of life and educate them on important policy changes going through the General Assembly. I invite local seniors to stop by and listen to our presentation.”
Nesbit will provide information on a wide range of programs, including Property Tax/Rent Rebate; Low Income Home Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); PACE-PACENET prescription drug assistance programs; discount vehicle registrations for retired individuals; caregiver support; and elder abuse awareness and protective services.
Seniors must register by Wednesday, May 3, by calling Nesbit’s Grove City office at (724) 458-4911 or emailing his office at firstname.lastname@example.org
